Frequently asked questions
How do I play?
Each round shows a row of shuffled letter tiles and a category — Clubs, Players or National Teams. Rearrange the tiles into the correct name, or just type your answer and submit. Solve it before the timer runs out to score and keep your streak alive.
Do I have to drag the tiles?
No. You can tap tiles into the answer slots or type the name directly — whichever is faster for you. Small typos are forgiven: if you're one letter off on an accepted spelling, it still counts as "close enough".
What does the Hint button do?
Once per round you can ask for a hint. An AI football commentator gives you one witty clue about the answer without naming it outright. Using a hint reduces the points for that round, so save it for when you're truly stuck.
What's the difference between Classic and Daily Challenge?
Classic is an endless run — keep solving until you run out of lives. Daily Challenge is a fixed puzzle that's the same for every player that day, so you can compare how you did with friends.
How does scoring work?
Points scale with how fast you solve and how long your current streak is. You start each run with three lives; a wrong answer costs one. Run out of lives and the run ends with your final score and best streak.
Can I turn off the timer, sound or haptics?
Yes. Open Settings to toggle the 60-second timer, sound and haptics, and to set a difficulty filter for the names you get.
A hint looked weird or off-topic.
Hints are AI-generated, so an occasional strange line can slip through. The answer and your score are decided entirely on your device, so a bad hint can't break the game — but if something looks wrong, email us a screenshot and we'll improve it.
The Hint button isn't working.
Hints need an internet connection to reach the AI. If you're offline or it fails, the app falls back to a built-in clue so play never stops. Check your connection and try again; if it keeps failing, email us.
How do I manage notifications?
If you allow notifications, we send occasional reminders (like a new Daily Challenge). You can turn them off any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Scramble FC.
How do I reset my progress?
Settings → "Reset statistics" clears your best score and streak. Deleting the app also removes all local data.
